Lecturer

Md. Arshadul Islam is a Lecturer in the Department of Urban & Regional Planning at Rajshahi University of Engineering & Technology (RUET). He completed his Bachelor of Urban & Regional Planning (BURP) from RUET in 2024 and is currently pursuing a Master of Urban & Regional Planning (MURP) at the same institution.

Before commencing his academic career, Arshad served as an Assistant Urban Planner at Sheltech Consultants (Pvt.) Ltd. In this role, he contributed to Package-04 of the Improving Urban Governance and Infrastructure Project (IUGIP), which aimed to develop master plans for 16 municipalities in the Chattogram Division. This initiative, led by the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Co-operatives (Local Government Division) and implemented by the Local Government Engineering Department (LGED), was designed to foster sustainable and inclusive urban development through strengthened governance and infrastructure planning.

Arshad is an Associate Member (AM-2363) of the Bangladesh Institute of Planners (BIP). His academic and professional interests center around urban planning and design, spatial analysis, GIS applications, urban social transformation, and the effects of climate change on urban systems.
